We use a Candela Gentlelase alexandrite laser. This passes a ray of light over the skin to heat the hair follicle at the root, thus eliminating the blood supply to the hair. The laser specifically targets pigment in the hair, so dark hair responds the best. Every hair follicle that responds is permanently removed and will not grow back. Because only actively growing hair follicles respond, multiple treatments will be needed. We usually recommend at least six treatments for satisfactory results.

What are the results?

With laser hair removal you can expect significant permanent hair reduction to the point where temporary hair removal methods are seldom, if ever necessary. However due to normal hormonal changes, genetics, hair color, and skin tone, some clients may need a few additional treatments in order to achieve their personal level of desired results.

How does Skin Tightening work?

Our Candela Gentlase Laser uses the most advanced cooling system to cool the surface of the skin, thus allowing the use of higher energies to penetrate deeper into the skin for more impressive results.

The heat from the laser causes immediate tissue tightening and signals the body to start making new collagen. As the new collagen forms, skin will be tighter and firmer.

We do a treatment every two weeks for a total of six treatments. Each time more and more of your ‘aged’ and ‘ragged’ collagen is broken down which stimulates your body to create fresh new collagen.  There are some immediate results after each treatment, however most of the results will accumulate over the six months following the last treatment.

Typically patients enjoy results of skin tightening on face, neck and décolletage.

Our Candela Gentlelase laser targets pigment in the skin to eliminate or lighten dark spots.  The laser targets the pigment in the specific lesion, sparing the normal skin surrounding it.  Common spots treated are freckles, age spots, sun spots, seborrheic keratoses and many other pigmented lesions.

After a treatment the lesion will get darker than it was originally.  This will become a crust on top of the lesion which will flake off over 10-14 days, leaving a lighter version of the spot or often eliminating it completely.

Frequently treated areas include face, hands, arms, legs, chest and back.

Our laser can treat many different pigmented skin issues, including spider veins.

The laser targets the pigment in the veins under the surface of the skin to eliminate spider veins.  The heat from the laser causes inflammation in the non-functioning vein which will then cause it to seal shut, pushing the blood out either end and thus making it invisible.  The laser will sometimes rupture the small non functioning vein which will spill the blood out, causing a temporary bruise but eliminating the vein.

The spider veins that respond the best to this form of treatment are those that are 1 mm or less in diameter and which do not have a larger visible vein feeding into them.  You can often see up to a 50% reduction with just one treatment.
